Reform of designs in the EU is now in full swing, with the first phase taking full effect from 1 May 2025. In this webinar, Alistair Holzhauer-Barrie and Luca Colombo discuss the timeline for entry into force of the reforms as well as providing a thorough review of substantive updates to rights, protections offered and new limits placed on designs being introduced in Phase 1. They go on to look at reforms to validity, filing, prosecution and enforcement. They conclude by looking at the Design Directive reforms, concerning national design rights.
