Patrick Farrell, our Chief Investment Officer and Head of Research reflects on market movements from the previous week, provides an outlook on the economy in general, and considers the implications of what is occurring.

‘The US Federal Reserve highlighted what some of the projections were around both the economy, inflation and where rates are going to be in their mind over the course of the next few years and I think it was very much around the fact that the markets weren’t surprised by the fact that they tightened rates by 75 basis points, but more so with the fact that where they going to take rates to by the end of this year or their expectations and the fact that they’re going to continue to tighten into next year.’
