BusinessTV Interviews

About BusinessTV

We are the UK’s only dedicated platform connecting Medium Sized Businesses (MSBs) with the professional advice they need to improve their operational efficiency, governance, compliance and their strategies for growth and on-going success.

Due to its unique focus, BusinessTV makes it easy for Business Owners and their departmental directors to find engaging and informative content and, in turn, enables content created by the Professional Services community to reach this dynamic community.

The platform serves as an informative and cohesive destination for Business Owners and Advisers ultimately helping to improve the flow and engagement of professional expertise to drive business performance.

While our primary focus is to connect Medium Sized Business (MSBs) with Professional Advisers the broad range of content found on BusinessTV is appropriate for businesses of all sizes

About Medium Sized Businesses (MSBs)

Not to be confused with SMEs, (the very term ‘sme’ having become a bye-word for very small companies only), MSBs are companies classified as having turnovers of between £10-80 million. There are approximately 60,000 MSBs in the UK.

Often refered to as the Middle Market, it is arguably the most exciting and dynamic sector of the economy. MSBs account for a third of all private sector GDP and jobs and they continually punch above their weight in terms innovation, creativity, viability and resilience, frequently outperforming both smaller companies and multi-nationals.

While having much in common with larger companies, MSBs typically retain a uniquely simple management structure, with 80% being owner directed and key decisions taken between only a handful of hands-on stakeholders. These flat management structures deliver many notable advantages, not least of all the ability to to make speedy decisions, in-turn resulting in reduced times to market and increased agility in the face of changing circumstances: qualities that are more important now than ever before.

All MSBs, irrespective of their principal activity, are now faced with a manifold of operational challenges that invariably require professional expertise. Functions such as Finance & Tax, HR, Pension & Benefits, ITC, Risk, ESG & Diversity have all become increasingly complex, regulated, burdensome and intertwined, requiring optimal management if businesses are to remain compliant, reduce risk and achieve the operational efficiencies they require to underpin their strategies for growth.

MSBs acknowledge that they often lack the professional skills internally to manage many of these every day, yet non-core functions, themselves and agree that external Professional Services are critical to their on-going success

Taking part with an Interview.

Reach the MSB community through the most powerful medium you have – your people.

The MSB community are very much people driven; relying on the strength of their relationships to drive their own businesses forward they naturally seek the same depth of relationship with their partners and supply chain.

Although the delivery of Professional Services is becoming increasingly digitalised the fundamentals of client acquisition and retention remain the same, ‘people buy people first’.

Taking part with a BusinessTV Interview is a powerful way of showcasing your professional expertise, presenting the human face of your firm and of conveying enough of the right kind of information to make a real connection with your audience.

The transparent nature of video Interviews has a habit of bringing sincere people and competencies to the fore and viewers draw comfort from being able to identify genuine, approachable people behind the services on offer.

Content Partner Account features

1. Account allowing for unlimited uploading and delivery of your own content on BusinessTV.
This means that you may reach our community as frequently as you like. *You may create videos of any style and of any duration on any Business or Private Client topic that you believe to be of interest to the MSB community. Your videos will appear on BusinessTV in their relevant sections ready for our community to view and interact with. You may embed your videos in your own website using the BusinessTV media player as a professional, brand neutral, alternative to using other services such as YouTube or Vimeo.

2. Full Service Account Setup.
This means our team will set up your account for you and send to you login details for your account dashboard with all the features of your account already working as they should. You’ll only need to login and change your password to one of your choosing.

3. Custom inquiry form option for each content piece allowing for the capture of business inquiries.
This means that we can create an inquiry form for each individual video in which you may ask users to fill out data fields that you would like to capture. These data fields can be customized. In addition, the contents of the completed inquiry forms can be sent to any number of different emails addresses you supply. For example, a video created by your corporate finance team may come with a form that asks users to include their company turnover as this would be important for your corporate finance team to know; the completed form could then be sent to members of your corporate finance team or to a centralized business development team, or both.

4. Replication of applicable content to BusinessTV.
This means that if you have existing videos on services such as YouTube or Vimeo we can copy them and their associated descriptions and content over to BusinessTV. If you have more than a handful of videos this will save you a great deal of time. At your request we will continue to do this on an ongoing basis. These options allow you to extract as much value as possible from content you have already created and allow you to continue with existing services while getting to grips with BusinessTV at a pace that suits you.

5. Placement as a supplier to receive business inquiries from our Contact Advisers service.
This means you can receive business inquiries from members of our user community who are currently in need of the type of expertise you can provide. We provide our user community with a short form through which they can communicate their inquiry to multiple suppliers at once, saving them time and improving their evaluation process. At your request we will send you relevant inquiries to an email address you provide. You receive inquires that match a list of topics that you choose from. You are then able to respond to the inquiring company directly.

6. Ongoing comprehensive support to help you get the most from your account.
This means that in addition to telephone and email support for technical issues we will also be on-hand to help with content optimization. We can help with issues such as customizing inquiry forms, give insights based on user feedback as to which topics the community would like to see covered and we can even offer advice on content formats and styles that we know work well.

*Content submitted to BusinessTV must provide the user community with information or perspectives that could be considered useful or valuable independently of the services of the authoring company. For the avoidance of doubt content submitted must not be a mere advertisement of services in which the content solely refers to the merits of the company itself.

The Client agrees that the content it submits to appear on BusinessTV must meet BusinessTV’s editorial guidelines, (as described above), and the Client agrees that BusinessTV reserves the right to refuse to publish content that, in our judgment, does not meet these guidelines.

If content submitted by the Client does not meet our guidelines we will notify the Client within a period of three working days. Where possible BusinessTV will provide an explanation as to why content has been refused and we will indicate how it might be improved but this is at our discretion.
