There is little doubt that COVID-19 is having an impact on economic activity, but the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is keen to encourage international trade and co-operation in what it describes as “an unprecedented global health crisis”.
There is acknowledgment of the uncertainty about the length of lockdown measures across the globe. Different countries are recovering at different times, with the risk of “second wave” infections being closely monitored.
The OECD consider there is a clear need to send a signal of confidence for the global economy. With this in mind, Helen has released her second video, which was recorded just before lockdown.
This may not be the right time for some businesses to consider establishing a presence overseas, but as restrictions are gradually being lifted in different countries, you may be starting to consider any overseas opportunities that may arise or that have been put on the back-burner for the past few months.
